VISION
Urban youth
instilled with hope, values, knowledge, career skills,
confidence and a purpose which will last a life time, enabling
each to model their leadership at home, in the church and
throughout the community.
CORE
FUNCTIONS
-
Serve as an
advocate for the promotion of tutoring and mentoring
programs sponsored by DMARC affiliates and local area
congregations.

Expand
recognition of participating congregations and volunteers.

Increase
opportunities for tutors and mentors of various
congregations to convene, share their stories, learn, and
network.

Provide
technical assistance to tutoring and mentoring
"start-ups" in terms of program structure,
volunteer recruitment and training, participant enrollment
and motivation of all involved.

Serve as the
fiscal agent to support emerging tutoring and mentoring
programs, where it is financially prudent to do so.

Work to
sustain the administrative operations of Hope In The
Center.

FIRST
YEAR - Pilot Study Outcomes |
| 1.
Technical Assistance provided to 50 congregations,
agencies and /or community groups through DMARC's Hope
In The Center, by either Community Stakeholder's Group,
Operations Committee, or Staff with potential impact
upon at least 1,000 youth.
2. Coordination of
efforts with DMPS Administrators and Drake University to
determine best practices and appropriate student
achievement measures.
3. Train 10
congregations AND Track the progress of 100 youth. |
